At JustEducated, your Foundation Year provides the opportunity to develop essential academic and employability skills required for success in higher education, while introducing you to key concepts in computing.
In your first year of study, you will learn to interpret and evaluate data relevant to computing and IT. You’ll apply fundamental theories and concepts across the disciplines of Technology, Software, and Data, enabling you to make informed decisions and assess different problem-solving approaches.
As you progress to Level 5, your understanding of computer science principles will deepen. You will focus on applying various concepts and techniques within broader contexts, solving real-world problems in business and industry. Your learning will culminate in an industry-related project where you’ll demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired. Additionally, you’ll strengthen your communication skills by presenting your findings to a diverse audience — a vital ability for success in any tech career.
In your final year, you will continue to explore the three core themes: Technology, Software, and Data. This stage will emphasize the practical application of computer science principles and techniques across different sectors such as business, industry, and commerce. Your knowledge and skills will be showcased through a comprehensive project module, aligned with one of the core themes. This project will challenge you to apply critical thinking, advanced problem-solving, and technical expertise to real-world scenarios.
